Play hard. Play smart, Play together

Announcements

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Thank you to everyone that made the Northern and Mechanicsburg Summer Clinics/Camps a great success! Many individuals contributed their time and talents to each so that our players could increase their skills.
  • Thank you to Coach Fred Miller for organizing and running post-season summer and fall lacrosse skills sessions. Each session has been well attended and helped new and returning players sharpen their skills! Fall sessions are scheduled for 9/11, 10/2, and 10/23 from 4-5:30 PM at Chestnut Ridge Park.
  • REGISTRATION IS OPEN!!!!  It is not too early to register for the 2010-2011 season! Click here to register your son or daughter.
  • U-9 TEAM ----- The Board of Directors unanimously approved the formation of a U-9 team for this coming season. Wolfpack will join the majority of clubs in the YCLA in fielding a U-9 team. The team will be coached by Jason Swartley. The focus this first season will be general skills development and all players will receive equal playing time! If you know any prospective players please have their parents contact Jason at jlswartley@verizon.net or at 717.599.9320.
  • GIRLS LAX -----Wolfpack will expand its girls lacrosse program this coming season. With the help of coach Kerry Banks (a former CD East Varsity player), Wolfpack girls will have an opportunity to practice and participate in games with other area clubs. For more information contact Danette Swartley at danetteswartley@yahoo.com or 717.599-9322.
  • LAX FEST----Look for more details on the 2nd Annual LaxFest. This event is a great introduction to the sport of lacrosse and is again scheduled to occur in October at the Mechanicsburg Varsity Field. The evening involves several skills stations, opportunities to meet varsity coaches and players, light refreshments, giveaways, and lacrosse vendors. All are welcome!
  • COACHES ARE NEEDED---Interested in coaching lacrosse? Help is needed at all levels. Please contact Jason Swartley at the above number or email address.
  • TEAM MANAGERS---If you want to help the club and/or an individual team but don't know how, please consider being a team manager or helping with the work of the Board of Directors. Team managers will be needed for each team this coming season. Ideally the manager will be able to make an investment of their time to assist the coaches of each team. The manager will help with the administration of the team and generally serve as a liaison to the club and other YCLA lacrosse teams. The Board of Directors is always in need of project based help. If you are unable to make an ongoing commitment by serving on a committee or on the board itself, there are plenty of one-time opportunities to volunteer. Our club is only as strong as its volunteers! Please consider giving of your time and talents.

Please continue to check the club website for additional information as we work through the offseason. Preseason team practices will again begin in January 2011.

NYLC Equipment/Camp Reimbursement--  Each player has an individual account which accumlates funds as he/she participates in the various club fund raisers.  As the player sells items, a percentage of the sales will go into a "private" account that can be used to help pay for summer lax camps, purchasing lax equipment, NYLC apparel, or used to pay for registration fees.

In order to redeem the funds for equipment or camps, please complete the Equipment Reimbursement Form and send to the NYLC treasurer.  Click here to download the form.
