Safety Officer, Equipment Officer /

Mark Walsh---Will assist in the acquisition of necessary equipment not required of the individual players and review various safety standards. He will coordinate the necessary equipment to enhance the overall safety of the club’s participants.

Brian Gross---Will assist in the acquisition and schedule the maintenance of the field space.

Volunteers
Committees will be formed periodically and will be made up of parents of participating players. Each committee will be focused on specific club needs that affect all club members and the overall operation. Additional adult volunteers will be recruited as needed to ensure the club’s growth is managed and the financial solvency is monitored to allow the Northern York Lacrosse Club, the best opportunity to succeed.

Coaching Staff
Most coaches have Lacrosse coaching experience. Most coaches have higher level playing experience. Each coach is required to submit to a background check.

The Yearly Plan :

June:
Meet with interested players and parents to discuss the future of the club. Assign responsibilities and committee members. Acquire the necessary field space. Help the players to acquire the necessary equipment. Set up the summer schedule for initial training.

July – August:
Part time training begins with the emphasis on skill development and general game understanding. Gain the necessary indoor space and fall / winter league participation.

September- November:
Continue part time training with the emphasis of moving indoors as the weather dictates. Acquire the appropriate indoor league schedule. Design, plan and acquire uniforms. Devise Spring Game schedule and acquire necessary field space.

January - February:
Implement indoor training. Finalize the spring schedule. Create outdoor teams for competition.

March:
Outdoor spring practice and training for upcoming season. Begin outdoor game schedule.

April - May:
Continue to practice and participate in the outdoor game schedule. Evaluate and make the necessary adjustments to the organization. Participate in travel tournament competition.

Each year’s activity schedule will follow the pattern established with adjustments made to accommodate the growth of the club.

Growth Goals

2003
Club Formation

2004
The club will expand the age sensitive team configurations to include Youth, Middle School and High School programs. Depending on the number of participants, players may be selected to compete on an “A” and “B” team as talent and age development dictates. Competition scheduling will be devised to accommodate the various levels of skill development. Teams will be encouraged to compete at the highest level possible. Board members will be recruited to assist in the management of the club.

2005
An aggressive plan will be created to develop the necessary team elements to compete at the High School varsity level with other established local teams.

2006
The inaugural players will have developed their skills to make a case that they can compete with previously established programs. The oldest team should be made up of upper class High School players. A youth development program will be firmly in place.

2007
Each division will seek the appropriate level of competition with the most experienced High School players competing at the Varsity High School and JV levels in the York County Lacrosse League.

2008
Prepare for PIAA acceptance and adjust club structure accordingly.

2009 and beyond
Operate under revised guidelines and continue to develop the feeder program for the High School teams.  In addition, planning has begun for a formation of a youth girls lacrosse program.

Equipment

Individual player equipment is the responsibility of the player. Such equipment may include but not limited to the following; cleats, arm pads, gloves, shoulder pads, sticks and helmets. Purchase of team uniforms will be the responsibility of the player unless otherwise indicated by the club. The club will make arrangements for the design and production of the team’s uniforms. Field equipment, i.e.; goals, nets, field paint, liners, etc. will be the responsibility of the club.

Fundraising and Financial Responsibility


Membership dues will be required to allow for the management of the club. Player assessments may be necessary to maintain club solvency. Any assessment levied will need the approval of the Board.

Fundraising will fall into two categories;

Club fundraising will be mandatory. Participation is expected from each player to ensure that the financial exposure of the club is recovered in regards to acquiring the necessary facilities and field equipment for practice and game schedules as well as provide the teams with necessary player’s equipment that is not the responsibility of the individual player.

Individual fundraising will be designed in an attempt to defray the individual cost of each player’s financial exposure and will not be mandatory but up to the discretion of the player’s family.

General Club Meetings
The club will  announce in advance the time and place of the general club meetings which will outline the activities and club functions that each member can participate in. The club business will be conducted at the Annual meeting held at the end of the regular season and before the start of the summer training season.
