Announces Two Special Games To Support High School Lacrosse
The Northern
York Lacrosse Club announced this week that two games have
been created to showcase the Mid Penn's newest High School
Lacrosse teams. As a result of the recent PIAA actions to
govern boy's Lacrosse starting in the 2009 season, Northern
high School and Mechanicsburg High School have created games
to be held at high visibility locations in an attempt to
expose their respective communities to boy's Lacrosse which
is growing in Central Pennsylvania at an unprecedented rate.
Northern
Athletic Director Gerry Schwille has been instrumental in
creating the date for the May 3rd Games VS Harrisburg
Academy. This is the first time a Lacrosse game will be
played at the High School Soccer Stadium, the new home of
Northern Polar Bear Lacrosse. The JV contest will start at
5pm and the Varsity game will follow at approximately
6:30pm. NYLC also announced that this evening will be
designated as Senior night as it will be the last home game
played by Caleb Baechtle, Cody Emanuel, Nick Grassetti. Clay
Hall, Ryan Heintzelman, Dylan Schneider, Kyle Snyder and
Seth Weaver for the Northern York Lacrosse Club.
NYLC also
announced that with the assistance of Mechanicsburg Athletic
Director Andrea Teeter, the May 6th games will be moved to
the Northside Elementary School in Mechanicsburg and will be
played in their Soccer Stadium to give the Mechanicsburg
community a look at the foundation of the Wildcat High
School Lacrosse team. There are approximately 13
Mechanicsburg High School players currently training and
playing for the Northern York Lacrosse Club. The Varsity
team will face off at 5pm against Palmyra and the JV team
will compete with New Oxford at approximately 6:30pm.
Please come out and support your local Lacrosse players.
Year-End Banquet Scheduled for May 18
As our seasons are winding down and another chapter in our Wolfpack
history is completed, it is time to look to the future. We
will hold our year-end banquet at Franklin Twp. Park this year.
Brad and Dana Eyler have graciously
reserved the park for us for Sunday, May 18th. It is going to be a
covered dish event with the Booster Club providing the hamburgers
and hot dogs. We are asking for the following:
Those on the U11 and U13 please bring: desserts
Those on the U15 and JV please bring:
salads (this includes; tossed, pasta, fruit.....)
Those on the Varsity teams please bring: a
hot dish.
We are asking each family to bring
something to drink (a 2 liter bottle of soda, jug of tea or
lemonade....) We will provide cups and ice. We will also
provide paper products and utensils.
We are also asking several people to
volunteer to bring their grills there for the day. We
are starting this event around 11:30/12:00. We'll eat around
12:30 and then begin the ceremonies at 2:00. We want to have a great
day of fun and friendship. The park has lots to do, so bring the
whole family!
If you could email me and let me know how
many from your family will be coming, I would really appreciate it!
We will need to have some idea of numbers so that we can buy the
appropriate amount of meat!
For those who may not know where it is:
Take Route 15 South Go through the light at South Mountain Rd
(Choice is on the corner) Go 2.6 miles Turn right onto Century Lane
Come to a stop sign, continue on Century Lane Park is .1 to .2 miles
on the right. We're looking forward to a wonderful day.
Hope you can join us! Pam Mummert 580-0393
